Our Child Saw us Having Sex
Q. Our 12-year-old boy saw us having sex. He saw us and ran to his room. I went in there and he hid. I do not know what to do.
Concerned Reader, DSM.
A. Do not panic. It is something that happens all the time and rarely are children damaged by it, especially if it only happens once. To make certain it does not happen again, I am sure you will now put a lock on your bedroom door and use it. At 12, there is a good chance that your boy knows about sex. He may even masturbate, but children do not like the thought of their parents having sex, and that includes grown-up children. It is a good thing for children to know that their parents love each other and have sex, because that makes it easier for the children to have a healthy sex life when they get married. What he saw has to be put into the proper context, and while he may not want to talk to you about it, there are two basic things you can do. One is to get him an age-appropriate book about sex and leave it in his room. Put a note on it saying that if he has any questions, you will be more than happy to answer them. Do not pressure him into talking about it. I am sure he will read the book and at least you will know that he knows the facts rather than some nasty things that he might have heard at school. The other thing that you should do is make sure that he knows the two of you love each other.

Should I Cheat?
Q. I have been married for nearly five years, and my husband and I have had some problems with his lack of desire for sex. I am an exceptionally sexual person, but my sex drive has been suffocated. The problem is, I have become severely unsatisfied, and I have found myself seriously considering sleeping with other men. I feel I need to be satisfied, and I need to go outside of our marriage to do so. I cannot even fantasize about him anymore.
Concerned Reader, Bukoba.
A. Sex is an important component of a relationship, no doubt about it, but it is certainly possible to keep a marriage going in spite of any sexual incompatibility, providing the other factors outweigh the sexual issues. You may need to get sexual satisfaction in addition to that provided by your husband, having an affair is not the way to go. What I would recommend is that you try masturbating. If you can have the additional orgasms you need this way, then your relationship could definitely survive. If masturbation does not work for you, if you absolutely need to have a man to get the satisfaction you need, then my advice is to end the relationship and look for someone who can keep you sexually satisfied. The reason I advise this is because there is almost no doubt that if you start having affairs, the relationship is going to collapse eventually anyway. If your marriage falls apart because you were cheating on your husband that is going to cause a lot of acrimony, and you are going to look like the bad guy. There is also the risk that you might catch some sexually transmitted disease and then give it to your husband.

Food Poisoning
Q. My husband and I went to a local restaurant. My husband got food poisoning after eating his meal at the restaurant. Kindly, let us know why it happened?
Concerned Reader, Moshi.
A. Food poisoning includes a number of disorders, such as loose motion and throwing up (vomiting), due to acute disturbance in gastro-intestinal, developing 48 hours after the consumption of food and drink. Outbreaks affecting large number of persons occur in restaurants, canteens, hospitals and other institutions. Eating contaminated food causes food poisoning; like food infected with excreta of mice or rats, or bacteria perhaps transferred by flies or by humans during the handling of food. The size of the infecting dose of bacteria bears a close relationship to the speed of onset of symptoms and to severity of the illness. The types of food, which are particularly likely to be affected, are twice cooked meat dishes, soups, milk, juices and creams. The danger of food poisoning is greatly reduced if such foods are kept in a refrigerator. Another type of food poisoning is toxin type. Such poisoning is most commonly caused by bacteria and originates from food handlers suffering from septic lesion in the skin. Food poisoning may also occur due to intestinal allergy. For instance, some people are sensitive to certain types of fish; children eating unripe fruits or other unsuitable foods can suffer similar reactions. Food poisoning can occur because of chemical reactions like placing acid fruit juices in cheap zinc or enamel vessels.
