By Burton Brown
Abdallah Ramadhani Dulla proved his worth to Vijana City Bull playing a key role
in his team’s maiden victory over Pazi during the opening match of 2004 Kili RBA
League at the National Indoor Stadium last Saturday.
Dulla said he had a good career in Seychelles. “But this time I did not want to
sign another two-year contract with Cobra so that I can decide what is to be
done as the next move after Seychelles mission,” he told The Express.
Dulla, the most of industrious player of recent years, contributed much to
Vijana’s 65-55 win over a determined Pazi.
“He is still in form and is still slippery as he used to be before his
professional career in Seychelles,” remarked one of the fascinated fans at the
Indoor Stadium. Dulla produced 13 clear passes that earned his team the
much-sought points.
Vijana had a slim 14-12 lead over Pazi in the first quarter and took it to 30-28
until breather.
Meanwhile, defending champions Savio opened the season with a spectacular 60-47
win over Chang’ombe Boys despite many deadly moves of their top marksman Adam
Jegame.
Jegame alone bagged 24 points and Yusuf Abdul , who added 11 points, could not
beat Savio’s team work. Jije Makani and Michael Mwita were the outstanding
figures in Savio’s victory.
Other top riders in the League, JKT also recorded a massive win over debutants
Chui in a one-sided match held at the same venue on Sunday.
Under the gigantic sponsorship of Tanzania Breweries’ Kilimanjaro Lager, the
League resumes this weekend, when UDSM Outsiders face Savio, ABC Chui while
