Belgium is one of the five foreign countries confirmed to send
drivers to Africa’s first edition of the African Rally Championship, hosted by

The Convenor of the Rally Commission of Tanzania, Arif Ahmed said handpicking
the main sponsor to back the African Rally Championship was the major

the event a success.
According to Ahmed, the commission has already completed regulation and sent to
the Confederation of African Countries in Motor Sport (CACMS) who will forward
it to the world motor sports body (FIA)
He said he had already approached the sponsors who were part of the General Tyre
Rally of Tanzania 2004 and some of them accepted the responsibility to back it.
The confirmed sponsors, according to Ahmed, include New Africa Hotel, Computer
Centre, Raha.com and Simba Plastic.

confirm soon,” he said.

ones as fuel for the drivers, mineral water and airline tickets.
The organizers said the budget for the 2005 event is expected to be slightly
higher than that of the rally in June this year, as there would be drivers from
