Despite the fact that the east Africa as a region reduced the number of hungry people between 1990-92 and 2000-02, Tanzania has a blotch. It is one of the few countries which have actually seen a reverse trend on increasing hunger in past 10 years, reveals a report from the Food and Agriculture Organization of UN (FAO). In fact, there are very few countries in the world which have shown such a downturn and Tanzania is, quite shamefully, grouped as one of them.
