'Poor TAZARA'
By Kizito Makoye
“Poor TAZARA,” remarked a dismayed businessman whose consignment was abandoned half way before it reached its destination in Kapiri Mposhi in Zambia. The businessman refused to bribe a TAZARA official who demanded a quid pro quo at Mlimba Station and as a result was left stranded with his consignment. The remark certainly reflects the feelings of many of TAZARA’s customers who constantly feel let down by the services offered by the public institution. Poor service is what many associate TAZARA with these days.
