Miss Bodyline's advice column
Spa pedicures, toenails, nail and foot fungus,
Pedicures can be a complete spa
experience, reawakening a feeling of well-being.
There is no disputing the fact that feet are very important parts of our
anatomy, yet, they are probably the most forgotten and neglected parts.
Just think how small your feet are in comparison to your whole body and body
weight. Your feet have to carry your whole body around for the rest of your
life.
Even if you give yourself a pedicure on a regular basis, I suggest you go to a
pro at least every 4 - 6 weeks to keep your feet in top condition and get some
pampering for yourself. There are thousands of nerve endings in the soles of
your feet.
Everyone loves to get their feet and legs massaged.
A pedicure consists of disinfecting and soaking the feet, removing polish,
cleaning, trimming and filing the nails, removing calluses, a relaxing foot and
leg massage, a nail conditioning treatment and polish. A spa pedicure should
include an exfoliation treatment and/or a foot mask to complete the treatment
and to get ultimate results.
"TREAT YOUR FEET" - invest in some professional pedicure products. They are
designed to bring tired, neglected feet back to life. Experience the feeling of
walking on "AIR".
Cracked heels don't feel good, can be painful and simply are not pretty.
Check out our Gehwol Extra foot cream. It's simply the best product around.
Fungus on toenails or fingernails
Many people have it and are not aware of it. Check your nails. Are they white
farther down on your nailplate? Are your toenails dry, brittle, splitting and
breaking? Are your toenails yellow or discolored? If so you may have fungus.
It means that the nail is detaching itself from the nail plate. It's atually
more common on toenails, but people also have it on their fingernails.
Fungus on toenails or fingernails can and should be treated.
We offer Gehwol medicated nail and skin oil to treat nail fungus
How can you take care of the problem? By having a manicure every 2 weeks and a
pedicure every 4 - 6 weeks and by using proper professional homecare products
everyday.
Have you been neglecting your feet? If so, be sure to book an appointment for a
spa pedicure today! That goes for men too!
Of course you can give yourself a pedicure at home. It's just not the same
pampering experience., but here's how to do it.
Soak your feet 10 - 15 minutes in warm water. Add your favorite scented bath
product and relax.
Dry your feet, clean out your nails. Cut them straight across with a nail
clipper. Dig out a little more on the sides if you have ingrown nails. Push back
the cuticles.
Avoid cutting cuticles or calluses.
It is not safe and not recommended by properly trained professionals. It can
causes more problems in the end. People with Diabetes have to be especially
careful with their feet. I know sometimes the cuticles are so overgrown that you
really cannot avoid cutting totally, but don't cut so much that you start to
bleed. Some people have an obsession with that. Cuticles are there to protect
the root of the nail. File your nails with a proper nail file.
Remove the calluses with a proper foot file!
Rinse your feet to remove all the dust. Massage your feet with a proper foot
cream. That will work wonders for your entire system.
I highly recommend our Gehwol Extra as an intensive moisturizing foot cream
I recommend our Gehwol Lipidro for diabetics and Allpresan 7 Extra for people
with foot fungus
Massage the foot cream into your feet. Give special attention to your heels.
Remove the residue of the cream from your toenails with a polish remover.
Separate the toes with a toe separator. Apply a nail hardener as a base coat
then follow with 2 coats of nail polish. Apply a quick dry top coat at the end.
Let your polish dry properly.
Apply 1 or 2 coats of a nail conditioner like Rejuvacote It works with or
without nailpolish.
Foot odor is usually caused by bacteria
Our Gehwol med deodorant foot cream helps deal with that problem
and the Gehwol Herbal Lotion Footspray
The only way to really get rid of it, is to get rid of the bacteria. An even
better strategy is to prevent the bacteria from growing in the first place.
Unfortunately you can still have a problem with smelly feet and foot odour even
if you wear sandals. Daily footcare with proper foot products is a must to keep
it under control.
Before you decide to take antibiotics to cure your foot odour problem give our
Gehwol products a try. You will be impressed with the results.
Until next time,
Miss Bodyline.
